Abstract
In the early 1970s the Medical School of the University of California at Davis (known hereafter as Davis) admitted 100 students per year, reserving 16 of the 100 seats for minority students. The minority students who applied were reviewed by a special admissions program, whereas all other applicants were reviewed by the regular admissions program (Fromm, 589).
