A Systematic Approach in Treating Post-Concussion Syndrome

Abstract

Concussions and their associated symptoms are a growing health concern in the United states. As the incidence and awareness of concussions increase Nurse practitioners will be asked to manage patients concussions and associated symptoms more frequently. Appropriate management of concussions through cognitive and physical rest, medications, and reassurance can improve patients outcomes. The purpose of this article is to acquaint NPs with post-concussion symptoms and present the above mentioned methods of treating these symptoms.
