The genus Chrysothamnus (Asteraceae) contains 16 species. Recently, 4 species were transferred to Ericameria, and the remaining 12 were left in Chrysothamnus. The remaining species are now transferred to Ericameria as E. albida, E. depressa, E. eremobia, E. graminea, E. filfolia (formerly C. greenei), E. humilis, E. linifolia, E. molesta, E. pulchella, E. pulchelloides (a fossil species), E. spathulata, E. vaseyi, and E. viscidiflora. Section alignments are given, and some infraspecific combinations are also made.
