Abstract
This nonfiction picture book takes young readers through significant moments in US history in an easily absorbed graphic format. The book breaks down the early native people, discovery and colonization, slave trade, independence, westward expansion, The Civil War, Industrialization, immigration, Japanese Interment, and The Space Race. After inviting the young reader to come on a journey to discover more about their history as an American, the book walks through these events using maps, charts, graphs, and images. Final pages also include a glossary, index, and sources for additional information on the topics discussed throughout the book.
