Biography
George R. Ryskamp is an Associate Professor of history at Brigham Young University and is director of the Immigrant Ancestors Project at BYU. He is author of Finding Your Hispanic Roots (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing, 1997), Finding Your Mexican Ancestors: A Beginner's Guide (Provo, UT: Ancestry, 2007), and other books and numerous articles. A frequent speaker at local, national, and international conferences, he recently completed five years service as director of the Center for Family History and Genealogy at Brigham Young University. He is a Fellow of the Utah Genealogical Association, a member of the Real Academia Matritense de Genealogia y Heraldica, a Fellow in the Academia Americana de Genealogia, and was a commissioner for the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists. Professor Ryskamp is an Accredited Genealogist and holds a law degree from BYU.
